Hello! My coworker and I are seeing the Microsoft Access sessions freezing for 1 - 2 minutes during forms development (specifically with textbox editing) and also with VBA coding, where the session freezes during editing. I'm not sure if these two issues are related, but they are both on the latest O365 professional version. I want to say its O365 update-related but that is speculation. Anyway, I wondered if others were seeing this. Thanks for reading!

There are several different 'latest versions' depending on the release channel.
What is the 365 YYMM version, build number, bitness and release channel

Have tried opening up a new database and testing that way or even another existing database?

By any chance are both of you editing the same file at the same time?

another thought is you have a form with a timer event

I’ll chime in and say that I have been experiencing this recently, on a variety of database files.
It seems to be mainly when simply resizing a label, or a text box control. It just goes un-responsive, and leaves behind a ghost image of the previous controls borders. Eventually, after about 40-80 seconds it comes back to life, but still sometimes leaves the ghost control border behind.

It got so bad, I rebooted twice yesterday. It’s not resources, according to task manager I’m only using 10-15% processor, and have 75% free memory left (out of 64Gb).

Microsoft® Access® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2308 Build 16.0.16731.20182) 64-bit

I'm not seeing any of this on this build Microsoft® Access® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2309 Build 16.0.16827.20014) 64-bit
Version 2309 (Build 16827.20056 Click-to-Run) Current Channel

I played around with resizing labels, controls, and doing it in various different ways using shortcuts, doing it manually and I don't experience the problem at all.

Just reporting that I am was still getting this problem.

It caused Access to simply shut down on me this morning after about 2 hours of use, but the database concerned had been saved, and closed and re-opened a few times in that period, and Access itself had been closed & restarted.

I have forced an update just now, to version Microsoft® Access® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2309 Build 16.0.16827.20130) 64-bit
and will see if that improves things.

I've no idea why it hadn't updated on it's own...?

@Minty
Can't help you except to say that I've not heard other reports of this as yet. If I do hear of other reports, I will report it as a possible issue to the Access team

For info, the build number on the page you see when you click About Access is often incorrect.
Always use the build number to the right of that button which is often (but not always) different
