I need to have a link between a check boxes in a form, and a excel type table (but not nessacerily in excel). I have a list of people in a form ( a page for each person), which has a check box for different items that they can sign out next to the name, so if they take an item out of the store, it is ticked on the form.
is it possible to have a macro that will do this ??? I don't have any idea.

What i need to do is have the form automatically update a list of how many of each item there are in the store, (eg take the number of items down by one in the table).
I REALLY need some help on this one, as Microsoft's help...well suffice to say it hasn't helped.
P.S. I am using Access and Excel 97

post any messages or email me. i don't mind

I'm taking that you have a table which identifies the [NoInStock] of your inventory.

First I think you are viewing a TABLE in ACCESS and not a form. You can create a form that is a DATASHEET form view that looks identical.

In design view, you would need to put an Event of the control (eg Item1Taken) that would take that item down by one in the Inventory Table.

Are we on the same page?...

ok. this looks good. i am using a form, but not in the right way. i have a table, but i was kinda expecting to have to change it to an excel table, because thats what excel is 4.
could you explain event of the control because even tho i do know a bit about access, i've never had 2 use Event of the control b4.

This is very promising. Thanks for the help so far.
