access to word, once again!

When you say:

And this subform has a drop down menu

Do you mean combo box?

2nd you say:

do you think it’s possible to copy the selected items and export it to word template?

What do you mean by copy the selected items?

Also when you say export do you mean you want to send it to a word template like you did with the bookmarks etc?

If you let me know I may be able to help.

It's 12:12 am here and I am about to hit the sack, so what about you post a cut down version of you db and post it and explain what you want to do, by that i mean you can indicate the fields by name that you want to instert into word etc.

You do not say if you want data from the "Main Form" as well as the "SubForm" to be "sent" to word.

If you only want to use the subform then base your word document on a query. If the subform had several rows then you would have insert that into word tables. Just my last sleepy thoughts.

how about you hit the sack and I work on something diff and post that later on for you. Thanks a lot though. Yes it should be part of main form. the data from main form and subform should be add on to the template.

Here it is, I am posting the screen shot of that subform with main form. Is it possible to export the data out of the subform with the main form. If not, how would it be possible to do that. Because, user wants to have the ability to choose the text that matches with their loan application.

TIA

Question:1

Do you have to type those conditions into the subform each time you create a loan agreement?

Question 2: ( I know it is none of my business)

Why is the access form set out like a legal document? All those conditions should only appear in Word not in Access.

For example;

7) Board resolutions from the Borrower authorizing the loan agreement etc.

Same as last night it is not 12:25 and I am going to bed, Just a thought re those conditions in the subform. The all look like one liners so why not have them in a combo box in a table called tblConditons and link them to the subform and to the main form in a Many to Many relationship. That way a loan agreement could have many conditions per agreement BUT only 1 of each. The prevents you have having 2 "Engineering Report to be commissioned by the Bank on the property". If you add 2 then you can have code tell the user and undo the action.

Because, user wants to have the ability to choose the text that matches with their loan application.

I am sorry but I don't understand this, do you mean that the person requesting the loan fills in the subform!!! or do you mean the User wants to be able to select what goes into the subform for the loan application that they are completing for the borrower?

After the loan agreement is completed in word where would the information from the subform appear ( at the start, middle or at the end)?

Good night..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

subform conditions??? now I have a combo box as shown in the pic.

Its set it up like this to give the user an idea, in what part of the letter this info will be migrating to, I want to make it user friendly as much as possible. So, they wouldn't mess it up. But most of the info is in the letter, I have cropped them from here, but where the text box appears, I wanted to leave the text there to give em an idea.

7) Board resolutions from the Borrower authorizing the loan agreement etc.

user requested to choose what goes into the subform, cuz it varies application to application.

After the loan agreement is completed in word where would the information from the subform appear ( at the start, middle or at the end)?

it will be in the middle of the word document.

Good night..zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I have had a lil success, what I did that used the orginal for's text box to save the combo box's entry. Whenever user makes the selection, it saves onto that text box. However, I used that textbox as my field to export the datasheet (orginally combo box is making a datashee), it only export last entry to the template. Need help, how can I resolve this issue.

TIA

Just wanted to thank you for this thread. Been struggling all day to merge to word and this has solved my problems.

Thanks

It did thanks. I'm now trying take it a step further by saving the newly created word document to a specific file path. Any ideas?

Yes you can nominate a path to save to.
Things to consider:
Will the name of the file change each time it is saved?
or
Will the original be just overwritten?
or
You can save the document automatically using the date and the name in the doucment (e.g. CustomerName (access field) and todays:date:JackSmith2/12/2005 10:16:05 AM)

Have a look in Microsoft Word forums. or post back here. Iam sorry but I don't have a lot of time at the moment, however will do my best if you post back here and no one else helps you.

Good Luck
