I have a form which operates perfectly well, but when a filter is applied to it and you then try to move to the next record (using the record navigation buttons at the foot), I get a message saying that Access caused an illegal operation and will be shut down. It says to contact the vendor if the problem persists.

It happens every single time you do the above, but if no filter is on then you can move to another record without a problem. Does anyone know what is going on and how I might avoid this shutting down?

Thats Interesting!
I get the same prob, when i use conditional formatting,to highlight an item on the form. when u switch to the next form it seems to have a prob relocating itself and does a shutdown....with all the probs that causes.
Will be interesting to see what resonese u get

You could try creating a new database and importing all the objects etc from the one that's giving you problems, it might just get rid of any bugs that are hanging about. Might not solve the problem but worth a try.

Lawson has the right idea, set up a blank database and import all the forms table's macro's etc. I had the same problem, on of my date calculations wouldnt work and crashed the program, but once I moved everything to a new database it stopped happening it also decreased the size of the database
