Hi
I have a database created in Access 2000 File Format using Access 2003. Due to upgrades at work we all now have Access 2010. Database is still a Access 2000 database
I have created some reports using the Access 2010 version, these reports only export the report headers to excel.
Reports that were created using Access 2003 export to excel in full.
I understand that in Access 2007 the export to excel ability was discontinued but put back in Access 2010.
This morning I have found a machine at work that has not been upgraded and is still on 2003, I created a very basic report using one of the queries for one of the 2010 reports, this then exported to excel with no problems from the machine with 2003 on or the machine with 2010 on. So i am now confident my problem is to do with the change at Access 2007.
When exporting from 2010 the excel file format is 97-2003

My questions therefore are
1 Is there something I can do when creating a report at the start that specifies the 2003 format rather than 2010 to alleviate this problem
2 Is there a setting in 2010 that I need to set to be able to export to excel

The export to excel ability is not absolutely crucial but it is handy and the MD is the person asking for these reports to be exported

Any comments would be appreciated

Dont know who told you that, works for me in 2k7 no problem

All you do is open the report, then go to External data, and then Export to Excel

What you could do is ask for 2003 to be reinstalled, but make sure they use different install folders, otherwise mdb files will open but any event driven action via VBA wont work.

Exporting a Report to Excel in any version is a problem. Columns do not line up etc.

I always export direct from a Query. An experienced Excel person can even adjust the Format of the Spreadsheet with Headers Fonts Colours and Totals etc.
