ActiveX and Access Problems

I ma having problems using the ActiveX controls in Access. When I click on the toolbox icon to access the controls I get a message saying Access has generated errors and needs to shut down. The tools work fine is Excel, Word and Powerpoint. I tried reinstalling just the Access portion but no go. Any suggestions before I redo the whole suite?
