I have just recently begun to explore the number of ActiveX controls that are available for use, but there doesn't seem to be any description of them in any of the documention or any reference guides I have purchased.

For example, I have had trouble with the standard combo box control for a particular application, and saw on the ActiveX list a selection for a combo box control -- is there a better way to determine if the ActiveX combo box control is any better, other than trial and error?

Hello, TG,

There is definitely no problem at all with the standard combo boxes. As far as I remember lies your problem in the combo box' rowsource or in the registry settings.
In using the non-standard combo boxes such as Image control you have nice features but big potential if you want to deploy these OCX.
Most OCX are undocumented and unsupported, and there is certainly a reason for it. Personally, I only use those OCX I created myself.

Hey again Els ... is OCX another/shorter
term for ActiveX controls?

If so, I assume you meant to say in your reply "you have nice features but big potential **for disaster?** if you want to deploy these OCX."

Assuming that is what you meant to say -- thanks for the heads up

On my previous combo box problems, I am thinking now, based on review of Acc2k help files on form performance, the 'a**hole' combo boxes were acting up since I had too many controls on my form to begin with.

Like you said, they work perfectly for me when I use them in a simple popup form, and am thinking about just having an option group for selecting a record to view -- each referencing a different popup form with its own combobox for, e.g., searching by Dealer#, or business group, or proposal status etc.

Thoughts?

Hi again Els or Others ...

Els said previously "As far as I remember lies your problem in the combo box' rowsource or in the registry settings. ""

I am 99% sure its not the rowsource property settings -- can you explain how the 'registry settings' (Win95 in this case) come into play? And how I might make corrections if necessary? Might there be Win95/Acc2k conflicts?
