Do Access Add-ins have to be made in Access or can I use Visual Basic 6 to create add-ins for Access?

Wow, the great Mile-O asking a question... shit that's new.

My guess is access only, vb6 to my knowledge dosent have support for the ! operator nor [] tags for fieldnames, a lot could be missing that may be required.

My suggestion is that you try making a SIMPLE addin in vb6 first and see what happens.

Although, most of the stuff in access supports the . or perhaps the Forms("frmFormNameHere") method, it's worth a shot.

You make me sound like a circus act. :D

My thinking is that I can set an Access reference from VB and do all the stuff I want in VB - forms, codes, classes, etc. for a handy add-in I want to do.

It'll be about 4½ hours before I get home to find out; this way's quicker. ;)

Leading by example

Hehe, didn't mean to.. you just seem so danmed knowlegable about access/vb that i was kinda shocked to see you ask a question.

My humble appology. Gomen, sugoi gomen.

Okay, looked it up on Knowledge Base and it needs to be an .mda or .mde file that acts as the add-in. I can live with that.
