Adding Barcodes to Reports

Hello. I have a report with some fields that need to be barcoded with code 3of9. This works OK using the 3of9.ttf font that's included with Windows except when I increase the font size to get the requested barcode height of .40", the width of the barcode exceeds the space I have available. I found a few different barcode fonts on the 'net. One allows me to increase the height without getting too wide. I've tested the font in Excel and it displays, prints, and scans fine, but when I try to use it in my Access report, I only get a human-readable output - no barcode. I've tried other barcode fonts as well and I haven't found any other fonts that actually print barcodes - they all print human-readable.
I must be missing something. Does anyone have any ideas?

I use barcodes in mine and just use a code 39 font. 39-notext. It outputs as a scannable code, I never see it as readable numbers.

I am using CCode39, good one.

In the report also, are you selecting the font correctly (bar coded one!)

regards.

While in design view, I have the barcode font selected, and I actually see barcode in the design view. When I save and run a test report is when the human-readable shows up. I've tried compiling and that doesn't change anything.
This is not a report that I originally wrote. Could it be possible that the original programmer has some code that is preventing the report from using the barcode font? Is there a way to force a report to use a particular font despite what each field is set to?

The simplest way to check this is to make a sample report with record source same as the report in question an adding some field including bar code one. This way you would able to check if something is wrong with bar code or something else.

Yes, thanks. Creating a test report was a good idea and it confirmed my suspicions. When I create a new report, the barcodes print out (and scan) just fine. Somewhere in the original report there must be some code to force it back to Times Roman.
Now I just need to find where that code is...
Thanks again.
