Adding Calender option to Access

my departments seems to want to add some sort of notification feature to our database. It's supposed to notify the department when a certain date is approaching.

How do you even begin to think about adding this feature into Access? I don't know where to start. I'm no Access guru.

Shouldn't be too hard... one way would be to do a query each time the database is opened in your startup screen.... if the criteria is met, notify via msgbox... that would seem to be the easiest, least complicated way.
