Dear Access Users,

I have an important question related with the access query and criteria that should be defined for it and it is very urgent that I have to find:

I have to define user input query and the it should select the products in the product column starting with the letters A and B.

I tried the below way:

Criteria :Like [enter product name] & "*"
Or :Like ["*"]

But it did not work

Could you please tell me how it should be defined?

Thanks for your help in advance..

Firstly welcome to the forum.

I not quite sure what you are trying to achieve. Is it that you want to select only products that start with the letters "A" or "B" and what part does the user input play in this selection

Hi John,

The user will enter 2 different letter on the the displayed windows.
one is A and the other is B
When the words starting with a and b will be selected only.

A and B being generic alpha characters or Literal A and B characters?

Will they be entered as AB or A B?

What do the A or B criteria reflect? If the prompt is always A or B why do you need the prompt. Why not have a A query and a separate B query?
