Ok, I have to creat a report that shows all the open files, and the closed files that have been processed. Now I want to know is it possible to create a field on the report that isn't in a table that will just add up the number of files that have been processed? If so how do I go about doing this? Thanks in advance.

Add an unbound text box to the form. In the properties of the text box, on the data tab, for control source type =count(Closed). Substitute whatever the field name is that signifies a closed and processed project for (Closed).

would it just be =count(fieldname) if I just want to count all the data that has passed through my database open or closed?

ok I got that figured out so disregard my post. Now when I start my form it asks me to pass it a Parameter label. Here is what it does. A box pops up. The label of the box, and the label of the text box are below. is there anyway I can get rid of this or at least have something pass automaticlly so my users don't get confused when dealing with this report?

enter parameter value

Type of Transfer_Label

Thanks again.

Night,

Is this a parameter that you are actually trying to use or does it come up unexpectedly? Meaning, do you want to enter some value automatically into this label or, when you start your form do you say "What the heck is this?"

If the latter, in design view, find the rogue label. Then pull up your fields list (which show a list of fields that you can use on your form) I would dare to bet that the field is not listed there, but it may possibly exist with another name. Delete the rogue label and replace it with the appropriate field.

If this isn't the proper help you require, just post again. I, or some other able member will be happy to go through it with you.

Tess thank you much. I got it fixed up and now it loads without that crazy parameter box. I do appreciate the help.
