Adding fields in a query. Now here's a question worth answering!

Hi Everyone!

I'm having a serious headache with this query I'm working on. It seems pretty easy, but it's just not working.

I'm just trying to add three fields together in a query. I have an expression in my query that looks like this:

Expr1: [Field1] + [Field2] + [Field3]

All three fields, (And Expr1), are standard numbers and are Nz'd to avoid null problems. But the result I get from Expr1 is all three fields concatenated so it looks something like 00.0005.0015.00 instead of 20.00

I've tried:
Expr1: Sum([Field1] + [Field2] + [Field3])
But I get errors

I just want a nice totals column, If I see one more concatenated number, I'm going to scream!

If anyone can offer any insight or needs more information, please let me know. You guys are the best!!

One would suspect that there's a text field and not a numeric one. Use the Val function if that's the case
