I have searched everywhere and have not come up with answer yet. Here we go!

I have a query that gives me this result

PART# INSTRUCTIONS
(text) (memo)
123 Cut 2 at 5 inches
124 Cut 7 at 12 inches
123 Cut 12 at 18 inches
123 Cut 5 at 7 inches
121 Cut 1 at 2.625 inches
and so on....

Then i have an Job Table with the details of that job

PART#(text) QTY (#) DESC(text) EXT DESC(memo)
123 21.75 Alum This is where te instructions go!
124 7.000 Alum This is where te instructions go!
121 2.625 Alum This is where te instructions go!

Now I want to put the intructions in the appropriate record but I can only add 1 new instruction because the previous instruction gets deleted upon update. Part# 121 and 124 will keep their instructions but Part# 123 will update its instructions but deleting the previous one.

I know this sounds wierd but please, I need help on this one

PS: I tried the chr(10) and chr(13) but it stills delete the instruction that was in there.

You have to include the original values, too, in the Update row.

[EXT DESC] & [INSTRUCTIONS]

Just having [INSTRUCTIONS] will replace whatever was there.

Not sure if I follow

Thank You!
I will try first thing tomorrow morning at work!

I will post a reply to inform you if it worked, but I'm sure it will.

Thanks Again

I tried it at home on a sample database and it worked, thanks so much.

I love it when things fall into place!!
