Adding pdf files

What is the best way to handle pdf files in an Access database? I am using an older version of Access than 2007.

I've looked on Google and I get the feeling that using hyperlinks to the pdf files are the easiest way and adding a field in the table to list the hyperlinks.

I'd also like to be able to look at the pdf file in Access if possible without having to view it in another application.

Thanks for any input on this.
