Addition from two different tables (1 Viewer)

Hi All I'm currently working on a college assignment and I'm abit stuck so I was wondering if you guys could help me , I'm using Microsoft access 2003 as it has to work with the college system .

basically I need to produce a report what will show the total cost of the order

Table one

Quantity

Table two

price


how do I get these two tables to add up and produce the total cost in the report ?

Well you need to make a JOIN between the tables for which you will need to use the Primary and Foreign Keys...

Once you done that the two tables become 'one' and doing calculations is easy like.

If you have an ERD you should know what is your PK and FK, if you dont I suggest you ask your prof/teach about what is exactly a PK and FK.
