When using the help file in the vb editor i cannot get any topics on ADO or ADOX. I can see them in the index but there no related help topic appears. I have reinstalled all files from the Office CD, addded any references that look like they might have something to do with ADO but still no luck. Ideas anyone?

Did you also register the references? Same menu-bar item, next choice down from "References ..." Some things just need to be registered. ADOX is, I think, one of them. Not so sure about ADO.
Never mind adding library or .DLL references after-the-fact. Did you install the ADO options through a Custom Install when you re-installed Office? There are some registry options that need to be mucked about when you install ADO and just adding references to same won't cut it. Ditto the ADO-specific .HLB (Help Library) files and their associated files.
Do you have any references that say "MISSING" ? Those are references that need resolution regardless of whether you re-installed or not.
