Aligning labels and controls.

How do I get my labels and controls to line up vertically? If I click on align and up or down, they all get moved on top of each other with no spaces inbetween them. I want an equal amount of space inbetween them. How do I do this?

Hi
Highlight the controls you want to align.
If looking for a vertical alignment (i.e. a column) you use align left, if a row, you use align top.
To get spacing even click on Format, Vertical Spacing, then make even and then increase or decrease as needed

Is there a way to highlight a lot of controls without having to click on shift and click on the control for each one???

Have tried dragging your mouse over the all the required controls?

If they are all vaguely in a row or column you can click at the edge of the form in design view and highlight the column or row.

Well, when I do that, it sends all my controls way down the page. Some of them have spaces inbetween them vertically and the others sit right on top of eachother with no spaces. Help...

Sounds like you simply need to be patient and line up all the controls manually till they are about right. Then try selecting but watch very carefully what is selected and make sure you save before you align.
I seem to recall this happening to me once but cannot for the life of me remember why it happened.
