Hi All,

Please, I am creating an Access Project connected to a SQL Server database. How can I hide or deny access to certain tables, forms, reports and query objects? I need all data access to be through specific Forms and Reports. All other objects should be inaccessible.

Thanks,

Nanfa

You might want to try using the Switchboard to do this. Do a search on here if you wish on 'Switchboard'. Alternatively, something I have done before is to set up a form with a couple of listboxes on it (I'm not keen on switchboards and loads of buttons). The first listbox lists certain categories, eg forms, reports, then depending upon what you choose from the first listbox, the options in the second box change, choose from that one, double click and it takes you to the relevant form or report.
All you'd need to do for that is to set up a table or two (depends on what you actually want) so that you have the name of the form/report of what you want the user to see (eg contacts form), and the actual name of the form (eg frmContacts), along with specific ID numbers. That way, at start-up, this form will appear, and the user can only choose from what they see on the form. The only way they can get in to the database window is to hold down shift as they open the db, or press F11. This way, you can get in easily, but you just don't tell the users that they can by-pass the start-up form, and hope they don't already know about this.
