Sorry for the newbie idiocy...

I'm trying to create a query that is only governed by date, while displaying various other information that may or may not be filled in. Currently I can display 3 of the 4 tables' columns without a problem, but the 4th table's data is optional and only applies to some records in the other tables. When I add that to the query, it only displayes the entries with related data in the 4th table? Is there a way to let query show the columns from the 4th table although some of the records may not have entries in the 4th table?

Any advice?

Generally, I'd expect to see LEFT JOIN rather than INNER JOIN between the main table and that one. In query design view, right-click on the join line between the tables and edit it to the correct one.

thank you for the help, it solved the problem. I appologize again for my inadequate knowledge of the subject, but I am slowly trying to rectify this.

Joins can be tricky, and not something I'd expect a beginner to know about. It could probably be said the we ALL have inadequate knowledge of the subject, just to varying degrees. :p
