Alternate back color not showing in report

I am developing a database and so far I've made two reports. In the first one I selected an alternate back color, and it works fine. In the second report I again selected an alternate back color, but when I view it in any view, or print it out, no alternate color shows. I have looked at the property sheets of reports where the alternate color works and the one where it doesn't, but I can find no differences.
I would greatly appreciate any assistance in discovering the cause of this error, and a way to correct it.

Could you upload a stripped out DB so we can have a look?

And you are sure that the alternate color actually differs from the background color in this report?

I want to thank you for your time and attention to my problem. I found a work around rather than discovering the cause to my problem. I copied the report that was working correctly. I then switched the record source to the query that was being used by the one that wasn't working right. After swapping out the fields in the copy, it worked fine.
