Hi,

I have an intermittent problem with a memo field that I cannot duplicate or identify a cause. I am posting it here just in case someone has experienced the same situation.

The database is in Access 2007 and is split Back End on the server and Front End on four desktops. This problem has occurred on two copies of the front end. A memo field contains a narrative (description of an incident) and can vary in size from three small paragraphs or three pages in the eventual printed report.

I have no problems typing the narrative until the mouse is used to click at an insertion point to add or amend what has been typed. The moment something is inserted Access closes down with the usual warnings, however with no opportunity to save the work. As mentioned I cannot identify any consistency in what was being done at the time of the crash other than it occurs when attempting to amend typo's or add/delete a word. There is no pattern at all and can occur on new records just being entered or records that have been saved and being amended the following day. The frequency also varies and although I would describe it as infrequent it is very annoying when it does occur.

I have read through the posts and checked the field settings, compacted and repaired and imported all the Objects to a new database. Nothing seems to work. Bug in Access 2007?
