Hello,
I'm not an expert in access, I've been working on this database for two weeks but I don't seem to be able to think straight

I'm trying to asign a free teacher to a student (with a specific date and time for the class) and to find an available meeting room for the class

My tables are
STUDENT (ex. start date: 24 nov 2014 end date: 12 dec 2014, day: every tuesday time: 4:00pm)
TEACHER (ex available tuesdays and thursdays afternoon)
MEETING ROOM (free the 24th from 12:00 to 5pm)

I've created a table with hours (classes can be 15min, 30min, 45min or 1 hour from 7am to 8pm) so that was a lot of usefull information (not good)
I've created a table with days of the week but not easy when asigning the # of the day to the day (ex tuesday nov 24th) so not good
I've created a table for all disponibility teachers, students and classrooms... too many duplicated information

If anybody could help me to think straight and easy, I think I'm complicating my life and I know there is an easier way to do it... so please show me the way :D

I've read a thread that says I can use outlook for this, I work in a very small company, teachers do not have access to outlook, and we want to be able to know at the end of the month how many hours the teacher has worked, with what students the teacher has worked, how many hours the studen has done the actual month and how many hours are left to finish his training.

I know I can do this with queries but I think there is an easier way to do it...

Thanks you! ;)

Hi Samantha,
Until someone who actually knows what they are talking about comes by, I would suggest you read up on relationships and normalization. Seems to me that you will need at least one more table in which you would store the Student PK, the Teacher PK and the MeetingRoom PK.

Thank you Bob fitz, I'll try that option!!!
I'll let you know the result!
