Hi folks,

I've searched previous topics in the forum, checked the Help file & still don't seem to be able to find an idiot-friendly answer to this.

On startup, I want my opening form to fill the screen, ie to get rid of all the toolbars. I'm sure I remember doing this successfully years ago, and it certainly didn't involve any code (I couldn't code then and I still cant :-) ). I'm sure there are simple options somewhere that you select that can do this without doing any coding....am I wrong?

Yes I know the tools ---> start up option gets rid of some of it, but not the menu bar.

Some of the code that helpful people have provided obviously works, but I'm terrified to just copy & insert it amateurishly and then not be able to re-access the design mode (yes I made that mistake once. ok twice.)

I'm fighting tooth and nail not to have to learn vba, so please don't let me give in and be forced to buy a 'teach yourself in 24hrs'...

Thanks in anticipation.

Horrible, horrible books! :mad:

Make a macro with the command: Maximise

In your form's Open event, run the macro.

And set the form popup to yes

Hi Mile-O

At least I'm thinking on the right lines....I've already done that, but that wretched menu and blue bar are still at the top. That's the bit I'm trying to exterminate!

Am I being optimistic?

And yes, you're right about those damn 24hr books :D

ah, I think that's it.....setting the form to pop-up....guys you are the best :D

I can get rid of the menu, but you'll need code (I'll provide it and you can remove it afterwards.)

Copy this to a new module:

Code:
Sub AddBlankMenu()

    Dim mnuBlank As CommandBar

    Set mnuBlank = CommandBars.Add(Name:="BlankBar", Position:= _
        msoBarTop, MenuBar:=True, Temporary:=False)

    mnuBlank.Visible = True
    mnuBlank.Protection = msoBarNoMove

End Sub

Set the cursor inside the sub and click the RUN button (or press F5). A new menubar is created.

You can delete the module.

On the startup you can change the default menubar to the one we've just created called BlankBar.

devious Mile-O.....I like your way of thinking.

For the moment, the maximise and pop-up selections are working an absolute treat....but I'm going to go through your code in a reluctant admission that perhaps I should 'dabble' in the dark side.

Appreciate the help.

Don't dabble; embrace!
