So why haven't fish progressed to lungs.
because gills work. with lungs, you can only dive, you can't go under water for long (unless you have massive air storage)

Not according to evolution. I think evolution does not account for big jumps.
Exactly. So the sea snake has a second rate system. Why would the snake go back to the sea.
They also take on some oxygen through their skin.
big jumps? all dogs were wolves 15,000 years ago![]()
to eat and breed
Very small jump
Why not stick to land. All the other elapids have done extremely well on land.
It does according to my wife's embryology book. She is a qualified vet and they use human text books for some of their course. Also see this linkno it doesn't
It would indeed. But the oldest hominoid fossils are less than 8 million years old.indeed, but there's plenty that would invalidate the theory, that's the definition of a good theory. human fossils before the KT boundary would shake biology to its foundations
i'd say chicauaus (sp?) and dobermans look pretty different to wolves in the blink of eye in evolutionary terms...
if humans dies out tmr, the dingoes in Australia would speciate away from other dogs and wolves very quickly
evolution doesn't let you jump from a to b without an intermediate stage, but some things may still happen very quickly, especially if there is a positive feedback loop
as for the debate between gradual and puntuated equilibria, it's on going and nobody in the debate doubts evolution itself
obviously, at the time, it was an untapped resource (Stifler quote!)
they have done extremely well too, they're still around aren't they?
they had to learn to swim during the flood![]()

But the changes are not really that great. It does not represent the total change that lizard to snake represents where the whole jaw structure changes.
you and your snakes![]()

OK, what about theropod to bird.
