Hi all,

First off i may state i am brand new to access and doing my best to learn the system.

I am currently using the Desktop Asset Database Template that comes bundled with Access 2013.

Within it, when you view a contact when clicking into the 'Contact Details' form, there are two tabs. The asset tab is an area you can populate with all the assets that contact holds.

I cant for the life of me get the assets to appear here :banghead: Any ideas how it is done?

I have a table which populates itself directly from the Asset Details form brilliantly, but even though the assets update in the table with the person it is issued to, these assets do not appear within this tab and i have no idea how to do it.

Added to that, the basic subform doesn't fit my requirements. I would rather it appear as a numbered list like it appears in a report such as the one attached

Please can i have some guidance in how to set this up. I am happy to listen and try all methods to rectify this. Like i said im still learning.

Thanks all

There's an opening dialog box which contains a video and a getting started button. Have you tried these?

Yes i have and they show little to no detail apart from adding in information if you were to use the database 'as-is'.

Normaly you add these list numbers to reports only.
Normaly in access a record does not get any info from the next one or the previous one.
There are ways to create these lists, but they require some code writing and it will slow the operation.

Ok well I'm not a fan of it slowing things down as it does need to be quick as we are a fast paced business. In which case, is there a way of gettin this info to that tab with it being in a report format?
