Auto Complete Function in Query Prompt Box

Please help!! I am new to MS Access and I've been building a database for procurement. I am trying to create a query so that I can quickly and easily see how much we have spent with one supplier in a specific time frame. However, the prompt box for the queries asks 'Please enter Supplier Name' unfortunately many of the supplier names are long and complicated i.e. 'Mars Drinks (UK) Ltd' which is hard to remember. If you don't get the exact supplier name entered correctly in the prompt box i.e. 'Mars Drinks UK Ltd', the query returns no results leaving you to believe that you have not spent anything with that supplier, which is not true. Is there any command I can use so that the supplier name you enter in the prompt box will automatically recognise it i.e. if I were to type 'Mars Drinks' it will automatically complete the supplier name with 'Mars Drinks (UK) Ltd'. Any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you.

Have a search on the forum for "search form" you will find many a sample of how to "perfect" this, though in a slightly different way.

Alison Welcome to the forum with queries you can prompt and if not completed or only partially completed you can get returned information. What you would use is the statement Like[Enter your supplier name]&"*"

Maybe a betterway would be to create a form and have a combo box on it, just showing the suppliers names, then when you start to type in the supplier name it will complete the name for you, then just replace the parameter to look for the form and the combo box then show the results.
