auto number

I incorporated 'auto number' as one of my fields in a form I am creating. I did a few test runs (entering info) and the auto number has increased to #9.

Now, when I have completed testing, and begin to use my new database- the auto number field is inaccurate because it is a t #9 and not #1. Understand?

How can I clear current auto number so when I begin using the databse- it is starting from #1?

In table format, I deleted all fields but autonumber is still not reset. What did you mean by 'compact the databse' ?
