I know this has been asked a million times but somewhere I am just missing the boat.
I have 2 tables named 'tblAccountNumberListing' and 'tblTransactionsListing'
The first has these fields:
Account Number
Account Name
Grouping
Debit or Credit
Account Number ID (Autonumber) PK
(All are text fields EXCEPT the PK field. They are text fields coz that was some advice on one of the forums somewhere I saw)
The second table has:
Transaction Number
Date
Account Number ID
Account Name
Reason for Payment
Amount
How Paid
Transaction Number ID (Autonumber) PK (all the rest are text fields)
I have done a relationship from 'Account Number ID on the Account Number Table to the Account Number ID field on the Transaction Table. (It shows as a one-to-many)
On the form the Account Number ID field is a Combo Box and both the Account Number and the Account Name show up when looking in the combo box.
Now if I make a form using the Transaction Table fields I can get it to work fine with one exception. The 'Account Name' field does not poplulate from the Account number Combo Box. And if I ever do manage to get it populate correctly it NEVER shows in the Transaction Table. The rest of the entry records fine except the Account Name details dont/wont show up there.
Also, if I produce a report from the Transaction table the Account Name does not show. All related I guess but just put this in to give as much detail as possible.
I know this has been covered before, and I am really sorry for having to ask it again so hopefully there is still someone out there who feels sorry for a 'girl' (hehehehehehehe) and will help me. Cheeky I know but can you be really specific about what I do. I am really enjoying this and am so pleased with what I have achieved so far.
