I have a form in datasheet style as a subform (subOrderForm). As I type in a part number it then completes the next columns with the name, price etc. I have another subform (subPartDetails) that is also within the same main form (customerForm) that contains information (pictures, specification, sizes) about the same parts as subOrderForm. Is there a way I can get the details to automatically change in the subPartDetails based on the highligted part in subOrderForm?

CustomerForm
>subOrderForm
>subPartDetails

Many thanks for any help you are able to give.

You need a common field in both tables. Then, create a text box on the main form whose control source is the common field in suborderform, and set the linkmasterfields property of subpartdetails to that. Bingo!

Thanks James
Thank you for that, it all goes well apart from the LinkMasterFields. I go to the Property Sheet and data section and there isn't anything about link master fields. I'm using Acc2007. Where will I be able to find the master fields properties please.

Iain

It's a property of the subform object itself, rather than the form that's in it - it's definitely there.....

Also the link child fields property should be the name of the field in the subform. Otherwise it won't work, silly me

You star, I was looking at properties of the field and not the form.

THANKS
