I need to create a VBA code that will send emails from access in a semiautomated way. Basically i am working on an approval process. And when an item is aproved, i want to send an email to the next person for approval. or send an email to the requestor say it was not approved or that is was approved when the req process is complete. I have learned that using a send object macro will not allow me to enter a formula by which to get that email address. how do i do this.
Thanks, Phil

yes, i have and there seems to be a lot out there and i haven't clue where to start. i am not new to access but i am new to vba. so i don't know what applys to what i want to do and what doesn't.

I am working on the same thing. You just want to have a confirmation to be sent to ..Everyone? just a few people?

Please explain.

For example, I want to send an email out to who ever is going to receive a file that day. Not everyone will get a file every day. So to clear up confusion, I want access to send an email to whoever is in my query/table. Etc. (The file is sitting in thier folder.. they are just too brain dead to look)

I know that send object will email... but I don't want to send an object, I just want to generate an email. I am in the process of looking for things in the board, etc. if I get an answer, I will post it here- but you may want to explain how you are going to choose who you email to.

I know how it is to be a beginner… because I’m still there!

email

i figured out the code i wanted. basically i had to create atabe that contained the email address that the email need to be sent to. after a item is approved it then sends and email to the next person that has to approve it or to the person who submitted it if it is not approved.

its not pretty but it serves the purpose.
