email problem.. again !

Hi all. I am very much sure that al of you are fed up with E-mail issues. However can anyone please help me on this..

I want access to send e-mails automatically to different (selected) users.

Example. if User1 is over due on something. I want access to send him/her an e-mail automatically with a predefined message.

I looked everywhere for this but couldn't find it

Help please ?

SendObjects is one method of sending an email.

However, how automatic are you talking?

Everytime the Access application is opened?

At a certain time of day? Which days?

Or at set intervals?

For this to work MS Access must be open.

For certain times of the day or set intervals you will need to use a form's timer event.

Hi Travis and thanks for taking interest in this.

Anyways here is exactly what i am aiming to do.

I am creating a system for a DVD store. I am required to create a system that e-mails any users who is over due. (thats part of the system)

So basically i have a table with user names, their e-mails, etc..etc..etc..

If a user is over due the system (is always open) should automaticallty send him/her an e-mail saying that You should return the DVD as soon as possible. the e-mail should be sent everyday.

help please ?

You will need a Form with a Timer Event that does this. You can open this form Hidden so that it does not accedently get closed.

If you only intend to send one email for each overdue then you will need to add an additional field to the Rental Record (Boolean) indicating that you have already sent an email (You could also make this a Date Field and store the Date and Time of the sent email)

Search this site for SendObjects. There are examples of opening recordsets and using SendObjects to email.
