Automatic Job Numbers

I have made a table for all our new jobs and every time we get a new project we make a new job number.

Is there a way to set a default value in the table so that every time we add a new entry the Job Number coloum automatically adds the next number in sequence?

And can I do this without affecting all the data in the table already?

You could use the DMAX function to find the highest current value and then add 1 to it. You will need to make sure you can handle the situation when two users try to do this simultaneously. Search the forum for threads on DMAX if you need more info
