Automatic numbering

I have a large database that contains several hundred records. Is there a way to have the next record automatically fill in the next sequencial number (like Lotus fill by example)? The ID number for the row will not work in this instance.

Try using Autonumber in the Table menu. This will assign a number i sequence order
