Hi all,

Not sure if this is in the correct category... 2 options really...

I want to set up an automated email feature, that will email just ONE person (the same person) according to call backs that are due on a certain date. For example.

We enter quotations in to our system and input a 'Call Back Date'. I'm looking at ways we can be reminded of these dates via email, other than just going in and performing queries etc, which are already in place.

Is there a way we can set up an automated email facility, as described above, or, is there a way we can manually send reminders to our Outlook mailboxes, either by using a command button etc.

Regards,
Chris

I would lean towards creating a stand-alone db that sends your email and closes, and open that db from Windows Scheduled Tasks on the appropriate schedule.

Hi,

Where would I even begin with this? I'm not a big access user, the database I've built is pretty basic and we've been fine running queries to show outstanding dates. I'm just looking for better and more efficient way to handle this.

Is there not a more simpler way to just allow the user to manually add an entry to their Outlook calender? Perhaps maybe via a command button?

Chris.

Your second option sounds better: the moment something requires a reminder send that reminder to the persons outloook, since it will then lurk there until it pops up.

google
access outlook reminder

Thanks for your reply.

Could you guide me through this? Where do I start with setting this up?

Thanks,
