Hello
i'm doing a college project, making a database for a financial institution handling unit trusts..
i've made a form with 2 combo boxes.
the first one is to choose a customer from a list. once the customer is chosen, a macro requery's the 2nd combo box
in this 2nd combo box, you choose a unit trust owned by the selected customer. within this query, the amount of unit trusts held by the customer can be found..
this form is for sale transactions, i.e. when the customer wishes to Sell his existing unit trusts, the broker will use this form to select the customer, the trust he wishes to sell, the volume he wishes to sell along with the price.
now here comes the problem. at the end of the form i have a save button. i want to validate the information before saving.. to ensure that the broker would not key in the wrong amount of unit trusts to sell..
i made a macro with the following condition:
[Forms]![Add Sell Transactions]![Volume]>[customer holdings]![SumOfTVolume]
where SumOfTVolume represents the volume of the selected unit trust held by the customer.. however when i'm testing the form it comes up with an automation error.. "The object does not contain the Automation object 'customer holdings 2'"
how do i solve this?
any help would be greatly appreciated!
thanks in advance
