(AutoNumber) field. Strange Behaviour

Dear forum users,

I used to have a from which hold an AutoNumber field. Windows has downloaded some upgrades and for some reason the bevaiour of this field has gone wrong as well.

The thing is that, whenever I open the form, it automaticaly increments that field's value even if the other fields are empty. Even if I do not modify form's fields that field's value gets incremented with every opening of the from.The question is, how I can bring it back to previous shape, when that field was modified only when at least one another field was filled up with data?

you must have some field that is being set to some value either by code, or by default setting - the record selector will immediately turn to a pencil - so if you scrap the record you lose the autonumber.

include the autonumber in the form (locked=no, enabled=no will grey it) and you should see the values appear

I went the way you proposed to me, and found the solution having based on your idea. One of the field was automatically with the OnLoad method, when I changed it, everything works fine now.
