autonumbering

i can choose between long integer ( after each other, random)
or replicatie-id...

but i have to make an invoice on clients....but it's stupid when you have a number like 1, 2, 3, .... and when you have a number like - 3434839204 that sucks also....so is there some code for generating it ? or some notation i can use...for example 2 digits from the year, \, the name IN = invoice or Te = test, an unique number...

===> 04\IN\01 and next record is then 04\IN\02 or something like that...
anyone an idea ?

Assuming you record the date the invoice is issued,
add an unbound textbox to your invoice Report,
set its control source to = Format([YourDateField],"YY") & "\IN\" &[YourAutoNumField]
