On my form I have a textbox that looks up the autonumber. I use this field as a report number.
On my report I use the same textbox that looks up the autonumber. I call it report #.
So when the users print out all of the reports (there's tons of them) they can view the report number on the report and go directly to the record on the form by matching the report numbers if they need to correct any info.
My question is this.....will the autonumbers ALWAYS stay the same? For example if I have a record that the autonumber is 42.....will it always be 42 even if some records prior to 42 get deleted?
Please help so I can avoid disaster later. Thanks in advance.
