Can anyone please help or advise where I can look for help on this problem.
I have a subform which shows all my outstanding orders. Below it is a calculated field which shows the total weight of all the orders. (Steel Beams)
I would like to be able to highlight the weights on certain orders & show total weight for only these orders. (Similar to the way it can be done in excel)
I have been trying to do it via a query with a Yes/No check box & when I check the orders required the total weight changes. But I cannot get it to work properly as this puts a Yes in the field & the record disappears.
I only want it for a quick reference to save doing mental summing up so don’t want to change or add anything to a field to get answer.
Can anyone give me any ideas please?

Tks

How do you identify the particular records that need summing?
All the outstanding orders appear on the subform & the total weight is reflected on a calculated feild below.
I wanted a checkbox so that when an order is ticked the Total weight value in the calculated field changes to reflect this. (The weight of the checked order is subtracted from total weight)

They are in the subform because field x=?
I want to sum this subset because:
field y=?, or because Contains "?" or -- Is greater than "?"

I need to know the combined total weights of particular orders so that I can organize delivery trucks which are weight restricted. I just need a quick reference of weight for these orders so I don’t overload trucks when assigning deliveries.

I hope this makes sense.

Uncle Gizmo, thanks for your time.
I am only new to this and am learning as I go so I am not sure I understand what info you need.

“They are in the subform because field x=? “

The subform is based on a query which extracts all the outstanding orders for delivery which includes the weight for each order.

”I want to sum this subset because:
field y=?, or because Contains "?" or -- Is greater than "?" “

Field Y contains the total weight for each individual order.

The way I was looking & trying to do it was that I had a checkbox for each order & when I place a tick against a particular order. The weight for this order would be subtracted from the total weight of all the orders in the calculated field at bottom of form. Then I could quickly work out which orders would make a load & assign accordingly.

Thanks again
