I WONDER IF ANYONE CAN HELP. I WANT A FIELD TO BE ABLE TO RECOGNISE A BARCODE INPUT ENTRY, I.E., I SCAN A BARCODE AND IT PUTS THE RELATED INFORMATION IN THE FIELDS. THE BARCODE IN THIS INSTANCE WOULD FILL IN ALL THE ENTRY DETAILS SUCH AS NAME, ADDRESS, POSTCODE, EMPLOYEE NUMBER ETC.

APPRECIATE ANY HELP.

THANKS VINNY

Where is this information currently?

Hi Uncle Gizmo,

Sorry for the delay in coming back I have been away and left my computer at home. I am a HS Manager and trying to get records of people in and out of the office for a fire register and HS compliance.

My first question is how do you get any barcode scanner to input data. I understand it reads information like a keyboard?

The information is contained in an employee database, the I have a another dbase file which I want to record time in and out. Probably best to see example do you have an email. I tied sending a PDF but it exceeds 100kb. Do I need to put codes in?

Thanks for your time responding.

Kind Regards

Vinny

No, don't want to see an example at this stage.

The modern one's are USB and as you say, work like a keyboard.

A scanner straight out of the box; will input data straight in to a text box on your form, and automatically move to the next field (I think, don't have one now so working from memory)
