Good Afternoon,
I am very new to Access. I only create queries through the wizards or in design view.

The problem:
I've created a simple query that pulls data from two seperate tables. Yet when I look at the results about 10-15% of my entries don't come back when they should. I'm simply asking for a list of all my names along with some demographic information listed on a seperate table.

Example: When creating a basic query Last Name, First Name search I have 42 listed names in my table and only 29 of them come up through my query.

Can anyone help this beginner out?

Thank you very much.

Yes, it is based on two tables.

It could be the join that's limiting the records. Have you set any criteria as well?

If it's the join then do this:

1. Right-click the line that's joining the two tables
2. Click JOIN PROPERTIES
3. Select "Select ALL records from 'Employees' and only those ..."

I used Employees as an example. Select the appropriate one that shows the table from which the First Name and Surname fields are saved.

4. OK it and run your query again

I edited it as you explained above and only 29 of the 43 results returned. Maybe its something basic I'm doing wrong because I created another basic query (based on only one table) and only 29 results returned again.

Thank you for you time helping me out, I really appreciate it.

Oh, and I do not have any criteria set for this query.

Alright, here it is. I need to get the volunteer names and the processing data. VB Volunteers Query 2 is just the name query when I'm only getting 29 out of th 42 records and VB Volunteers Query is for their processing information as well, and again I only get 29 records in result.

I don't think you managed to do what I explained. Here's an attachment and you will see the pictures of what was done to get the 43 records.

Oh my... I changed the join type on the table relationships, not in the query. (blush) I now understand what I did wrong with your pictures.

Thank you very, very much for your time.

May you be blessed today as you have blessed me.
