*Before and After

Hi there all I have an Access 97 DB that creates cards with a barcode on them our barcode scanners need an *before and after parts numbers and quantitys how can i tell access to automatically insert the *

I've dealt with 3 of 9 before (I assume that's what you are using).

Suppose the item's id is ID, I would create a text box with the following in its control source:

="*" & ID & "*"
