Blank new form is no longer blank?

Hi guys,

I have been running the same database on numerous systems for 5 years and the user clicks on a button and using this code;

DoCmd.OpenForm "Employee", acNormal

Simple !, this always opened this form blank, without applying filters, ready to accept a new employees details.

But now this no longer works, for no apparent reason?
What happens is that it opens with the form fields filled with the first person in the Databases details instead of being blank.

The only thing that could have changed is that i converted the database to 2003?

Any ideas?

Try setting the form's properties to Data Entry Yes

The form is set for this already.
As i said it has been running like this for years now without any problems.
Dont have a clue as to why it should suddenly decide to change today????

Hi Sam Summers,

Is there any code on open event of the form you are opening?

Another question, are the fields bound or unbound? If bound, what are they bound to? If a query, maybe a query has been changed which resulted in a new record shown which was blank and now you are seeing the first record as a result.

Can you paste a sample of this database on the forum?

Well guys after all that, i just thought i would compare everything to a copy i have on my laptop and incredibly somehow the form properties had changed?!

This has never happened before !

I reset the properties to accept new data and that was it.
