Hello Everyone,

I just finished building my database and i have to install it on a PC. my problem is how to remove access tool bars and menues so that the only thing that appears when you open the databse is the login screen?
I don't want the user of the database to be able to go to design view and change the design of the forms or the reports. I want the user to see and be able to interact with the login form and the switchboard.
I wanna also know how can i install the databse on the PC. do i just copy it and paste it or is there any way else?

I hope you understand what i want.

Thanks in advance for your much appreciated help.

In your db Select Tools Start Up

To open it up on the Log In Form select it from Display/Form Page
Untick Allow Built In Toolbars and Allow Toolbar/Menu changes and also Menu's.

Yes just copy and paste it.

Still, you can go to Design View by right-clicking on a form, table etc.

Also, I think there isn't a way of undoing this action in the future, is there?

By unchecking the Allow Default Short Cut menus the right click is disabled.

The changes can be undone by opening the mdb in design view (holding down shift when opening) and checking the boxes again.

You can also convert the database to an mde file, which will not allow design view of the forms and reports.

Make sure you keep an mdb file on hand for later editting.
