I have two tables a stock master file and a transaction file. Each stock record in the master file has a type, width and identifier. These three fields are matched with the same three fields in the transaction file. Within the stock master file there is a total stock figure. I want to update this stock figure with the transaction stock figure that is entered into the transaction file.

Base your transaction form on a query that includes the two tables and the fields you require (including StockQTY)

On the AfterUpdate of the field where you enter the QTY taken put...

[StockQTY]=[StockQTY]-[QTY Taken]
