freeze panes can it be simualted?
I have a continus form displaying a list of names and vaules realted to each name. There are more values than space on one screen so the user has to scroll across. Anyone know of a way to freeze panes like in excel to allow the user to continue to see the name all the time?

(this was also posted in excel section in error, sorry)

The only thing I can think of is, if you use a listbox to present the data and turn off its scrollbars then - with two buttons (for scroll left and scroll right) - you can somehow hide or make visible columns as you move along horizontally.

how about making 2 continues forms next to eachother. But you would have to make something to keep them in sink. So that if 1 pans down the other does as well....

I think its doable....

another option is to hide columnswith buttons... instead of using a default slider bar...

Also doable i think

i think i would go for the latter....

Didn't Know i could delete em thought the mods had too!

List box wont be sutiable for the data for various cosmetic reasons. Is there soMe way i can grow/srink the box with name in it as the user scrolls?

Do i need to make them not visable and then move all the others across one or is there someway to make them dissapear and the others sqeeze up together automatically?

You set the column width property and for those you want to hide you set to 0

Sorry no internet for a few days :(

Mile-o, i can only set column width for the field (bound text boxes) them selfs i have a lot of butttons, labels, boxes ect in this for m too. Anyway around this?

In the mean time i was tring to do virtually Freeze the panes buy just incresing the width propertys of the Name (feild i want to display all the time) with a solid color box behind, toghther to cover over the other fields. This works with the txt aligned hard right. However is theres a way i can also incorperate a scroll action onto the same button? Was thinking i could set focus to a distant right object but form will jump rather than scroll. Any Ideas?
