Can Grow Property

Hi
I have a control on a report with the can grow property set to yes, the control is in a group header (the same happens if I move the control to the group detail section) it does grows but not enough to show all the text
any ideas what I´m doing wrong..or need more info ??

the field size setting seems to be defaulting to 255, in the table it is set to memo rather than text, but having counted the characters in the control on the report it is truncating at 255
I have another report with a subform and no grouping, the control shows fully on this report so I can only assume it is to do with grouping.....please can anyone help me out

Sorry to say this but it is very messy.

The only way I have been able to sort this out is by doing a query to create a table and to show the MEMO field as text fields. IE MEMO Field is 700 characters, Text Field1 = 1st 255 characters, Text Field2 = 2nd 255 characters and so on.

Then on the report, have Text1 + Text2 + Text3 and so on.
It is a pain when the memo field has 1000+ characters in it. Other way round would be to limit what goes in the original field to 255.

thanks for replying, i have found the problem was in how I had set grouping on the report...which now works fine... showing all the text I want in the control
