Can no longer call String$() or Left$() in my DB ...

I have an .mdb (A2K) with a function that uses both String$() and Left$() ...
I took the mdb off that network and worked on it, and then put it back again.

Now I can no longer use these functions. I have another .mdb on the same network that uses the same functions without problems ...

Any help is greatly appreciated
