Hi experts!
I have one form in my database that will simply not open in design view. Any clues? All of the others will. It is a form that came from someone else but I cant see why that would be it?
Thanks in advance

Is it an old web db form? Will it open in layout view?

Yeah, what does the icon for it looks like in the Nav Pane?

Sorry it did open in layout view.
Its access 2016 and Im using Windows 10 if that matters

You can see the design view icon is there but when you select it nothing changes

Hi. Rather than selecting the Design View from the Ribbon, what happens if you right-click on the form and select Design View (if available) from there?

No it doesnt do anything there
Okay, but if the name of the form is frmSearchMenu, I don't see, from the image you posted above, what its icon on the Nav Pane looks like. Does it look the same as the other ones shown (frmActionOffice, frmDirector, etc.)?

Ah sorry I see what you mean. Yes it does look the same.

Okay, in that case, can you export that one form into a new blank database and then post it here, so we can take a look?

Still can't open in design view in the new db?

I

I cant, no. Looks like @theDBguy can however
Wait, you said you're using 2010, right? I'm using 2016 right now. Let me try it on a 2010 version. Stand by...

Edit and Update: After re-reading your earlier post, I see you're using 2016 and Windows 10 - not Access 2010. However, I tried it anyway on 2010 and it still opened in Design View.

I think I might just get up, step backwards a few meters then run into a wall!! Urgh. I will try and see if I can use it on a completely different installation of access. Thanks @June7 & @theDBguy
